U.S. Companies Hiring During COVID

- While many corporations are laying off employees during the uncertainty of the pandemic, others are looking to hire tens of thousands of new hires.
Many people are being laid off or furloughed due to companies being uncertain of how severe the economic crisis may be due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Some experts have even predicted that unemployment will reach 20 percent. However, not all hope is lost. The below U.S. companies are currently hiring.
Instacart
Target: 300,000 New Hires
Instacart is searching for full-service grocery shoppers who will be hired and work as independent contractors. Top areas for demand include the states of California, New York, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New Jersey, Georgia, and Ohio.
Walmart
Target: 150,000 New Hires
Walmart is looking to hire 150,000 temporary employees to work at the company’s stores, clubs, and distribution centers.

Amazon
Target: 100,000 New Hires
Amazon is looking to hire new warehouse and delivery workers.
Dollar General
Target: 50,000 New Hires

The company plans to double its normal hiring rate by adding up to 50,000 employees by the end of April.
CVS
Target: 50,000 New Hires
The 50,000 new jobs will include full-time, part-time, and temporary store clerks, delivery drivers, distribution center employees, and customer service workers.
Albertsons / Safeway
Target: 30,000 New Hires
On March 17th, Albertsons tweeted: "We need your help. We're hiring for immediate openings! Apply at your local store or online now!"
Safeway, which is owned by Albertsons, also announced on social media that they are hiring.

Pizza Hut
Target: 30,000 New Hires
Pizza Hut is looking to fill 30,000 open positions, including cooks, managers, and shift leaders.
Dollar Tree / Family Dollar
Target: 25,000 New Hires
Dollar Tree will hire part and full-time managers for its stores, with flexible shifts for stockers and cashiers. Also, it will appoint order fillers, equipment operators, and warehouse associates for its 24 distribution centers.
Papa John's
Target: 20,000 New Hires
The addition of 20,000 new employees will help Papa John's delivery and carryout services. The available positions include cashiers, customer service representatives, drivers, managers, assistants, and other roles.
7-Eleven
Target: 20,000 New Hires

7-Eleven expects to hire as many as 20,000 new store employees, either directly or by independent 7-Eleven franchisees, in the coming months. The new store employee positions will help meet a surge in mobile orders through its 7Now delivery app, which offers delivery of essentials and nonessentials. Store employees will fulfill 7Now delivery orders that include grocery staples such as milk and bread; over-the-counter medicine; a range of food and beverage options such as pizza and Slurpee drinks; beer and wine in participating markets; and more.
Dominos
Target: 10,000 New Hires
The pizza company is looking for part- and full-time delivery drivers, pizza cookers, customer service representatives, managers, and licensed truck drivers for its supply chain centers and stores.
Kroger
Target: 10,000 New Hires
The open positions are for a variety of jobs, including retail clerks and night crew members.
Walgreens
Target: 9,500 New Hires

Walgreens is looking to hire more than 9,500 full-time, part-time and temporary workers.
The pharmacy chain says the positions include customer service associates, pharmacy technicians, and shift leads.
Pepsi
Target: 6,000 New Hires
The company said it would hire 6,000 full-time, full benefit workers across the U.S. in the coming months.
Cosentino's
Knoq
Target: 30+ New Hires
Area: Boston, Kansas City, and Salt Lake City
The company is hiring neighborhood representatives to shop and stock groceries, work with food banks and non-profits, and deliver food and essential items. Knoq has partnered with various grocery stores, delivery services, and non-profits to support the increased demand for those businesses.
They have 30+ full-time roles looking to be filled immediately in Boston, Kansas City, and Salt Lake City. The hourly rate is $15 per hour. Hires are required to have a car and a valid driver's license. Benefits are available for full-time employees.
